My goal as a therapist is to help people feel empowered and hopeful while dealing with life’s daily struggles. Life can be so challenging – the never-ending to-do list, the loved ones that need our help and support, the work or career we have chosen (or settled for).
Therapy is a much-needed break in the week to reflect, reconnect and decide what is working and what isn’t. Sometimes we need to learn more about ourselves. Sometimes we need to learn more about a situation. Sometimes we just need to be heard, understood and accepted.
Therapy is a space to learn and grow. That could mean learning how to say no to obligations when it is best for us – even when we feel guilty, it could mean learning how to calm when emotions (anxiety, fear, anger, etc.) are activated, or it could mean learning how to communicate more effectively – so we feel more heard and understood by those around us.
